The Q1273-60228 vs CQ109-67004 Carriage Belt Dilemma
Recently the HP website started showing the HP DesignJet Carriage Belt and Tensioner assembly Q1273-60228 for DesignJet Plotter models 4000 4500 and Z6100 has been replaced. HP now shows the HP DesignJet Carriage Belt and Tensioner assembly CQ109-67004 as the replacement part.
Be aware of this.

HP DesignJet part CQ109-67004 is supposed to replace the above 60228 belt
But HP only shows this belt as being compatible with these HP DesignJet plotter models:
Designjet L25500 42-inch Printer CH955A
Designjet T7100 Monochrome Printer CQ101A, CQ102A
Designjet T7100 Printer CQ105A, CQ105AR, CQ106A
Designjet Z6200 42-inch Printer CQ109A, CQ109AR
As of this posting we have not been able to verify these items are interchangeable nor have we been able to verify the parts for these models are interchangeable.
As you can see from the above tables HP does not state the Q1273-60228 is compatible with the same models as the CQ109-67004. HP shows that the CQ109-67004 is not compatible with the same modes as the Q1273-60228. This information is a direct contradiction to the HP website showing the 67004 belt as the replacement for the 60228 belt.
We are attempting to independently verify if these two belts are interchangeable.
We understand DesignJet plotter repairs can not wait, but in this case we advise waiting. Unless you can get your hands on the exact belt part number for the plotter you are working on and not follow the HP replacement part number advisory.

UPDATE to our last post.
Both belts have been checked and verified.
Same tooth height, same tooth spacing, same width and interchangeable tensioner assembly. Both belts have the same pulley-to-pulley length. Even though HP does not list the same plotter models as compatible models for each belt, the belts are interchangeable and should fit all models for both the Q1273-60228 and CQ109-67004 part numbers.
