Valve has released 300 beta test units out to the community, iFixit has acquired one of these gaming computers to do a tear down and assessment of the computer. At a glance the Steam Machine gaming computer runs off the shelf parts and scores very high for repairability. SATA hard drive, ram, motherboard, video card and power supply are easily obtainable from 3 party sources and do not require the typical, “send back to the factory” type service for dead parts. more »
